Revised portfolio

Well I've been playing with Wix.com to see if I could use it for a portfolio site. I have to admit the tools are pretty good for getting a site up at breakneck speed and for free.

Got the pencils ready to put onto bristol board and then its inking time.

Ink wells

My new high class ink wells.  A wine cap for black and a crown cork for white. The wine cap is filled so I can touch the pen nib on the bottom and the nib is covered to just the right height.

Do I want to go digital?

I do all my ink work with a dip pen but I keep thinking it would be quicker to go all digital.  I've got Manga Studio and its inking tools are pretty cool but I just can't get round not being able to just flip the drawing around.  I know MS has a rotate page option but it's just not the same.

So I've been dreaming of the day when I might get enough pennies to get a Cintiq. However, I've just read this http://frenden.com/buyers-remorse/ .  I know it's old but perhaps I'll stick to having inky fingers.
